Birthday Week...Month?

Ok...ok...so I know I can't have a whole birthday month, but when you're born in the middle of the best month EVER, it's hard not to celebrate all month long. But, it's over now, and now I have to wait another week before our Anniversary. Yup, we celebrate the whole month of June.

Here are some pictures to document the wonderful day we had!

The crew I went with...
Anthony, Tyler, Rachel

We had fun

We found out we're equally bad at golf...

Dinner and Lock, Stock and Barrel

MMMM....delish!
That was the end of my fabulous day. Mom and Dad (and Rachel) had us over for dinner on Friday with Mexican food. Also delicious. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!

CAMPING!

We went camping this weekend with my parents at Sage Hen Reservoir. Our first adventure was dad reading us the instructions to build the tent. Let me point out, that we've put up this tent quite successfully twice before. It was supposed to look like the picture in the end - I believe it did! I didn't help much, in fact, I think I make the process much harder by "helping".

Anthony and dad went fishing about 3 times a day. I decided it was my turn. I caught one fish...got bored....

....and let Anthony paddle me back while I tanned. Mostly the wind took us back, he was content fishing, I was content laying in the sun!

We took Anthony mushrooming for the first time. We found enough for a few meals. I told him it was like a giant Easter Egg hunt. He reminded me, "no, they aren't bright colors". So true...it's much harder. But we had fun hiking up and down the hills looking for mushrooms.

Mom and I decided to take our the Kayak....yup....that worked well...this is mom not able to get out of they kayak, and me telling her to please wait while I document this occasion. We laughed the whole time and looked very inexperienced. Although, we've been doing this for many years now.

Overall, we had a fabulous time with great weather. We relaxed, fished, played cards, and brought home a bucket of mushrooms. Very successful weekend!

Bistro

As soon as we picked this floor plan for our house I loved the fact it had a big front porch. I imagined all these wonderful things to put on the front porch. But what I loved the most was a cute little bistro table and chairs. The little black ones with the high table. Searching and searching for the perfect set was not as easy as I thought it would be. Mostly because I'm cheap... I didn't want to spend $200 on a cute furniture set that I figured was more for looks than use.

We shopped around and stumbled into World Market. There is was...so cute and perfect.

The newest addition to our home is a very nice little bistro table, chairs that almost match, and some cute cushions we bought on sale at Target.

What makes me laugh, is that since we've had them, we sit out on our front patio every night watching the neighbors and talking about our day.
It looks so much better when the sun is out...

Sirus

I thought everyone should get to know this guy:

Sleeping in the clean clothes

He really believes this is his...
So relaxed

I was cleaning up the kitchen and I couldn't find him anymore - I didn't think he was small enough to fit in that box.
Camping chair

We found Sirus November 2008. He was a little bigger than a kitten. He really is our baby, he has the run of the house.

Our only house rule is "don't let the cat out".

Anthony and I are going camping with my parents this weekend. I'll be sure to update you with all the exciting adventures we have! Have a great week everyone!

First Post

Welcome to our blog. I hope that as this summer continues I feel motivated to keep up with this.

A little about us:

Anthony and I were married almost 2 years ago: June 28, 2008. We went to Puerto Vallarta on our honeymoon and we can't wait to go again.

We lived in an apartment for a year, lived with Anthony's parents for almost 4 months while our house was being built, and on November 20th 2009...we moved into our BEAUTIFUL new home!

Our spring consisted of landscaping. I didn't know what yard work was before this adventure! We helped put in our sprinkler system. We did our own fence (with help from both our families) and we FINALLY put in the lawn. It pretty much an insane April.

While I was at work - everyone else came to chip in to get this done!

Oh, the joys of being a homeowner. As I end this first post, I would like to thank everyone who came and put in their time on our yard, we really couldn't have done it without you!

All our hard work paid off. Green grass and a beautiful fence.
